New media is a set of resources through which people can obtain information.
Most of the current outcomes of the new media were present in the past : telephone, mail, movies, TV, radio. The difference is that nowadays these outcomes are faster, nicer and more efficient. There is a wide range of reasons, but the main one is that in the present everything is based on software rather than physical.
